"NVM Express Fabrics Protocol and Architecture" NVM Express, Inc. Public Webinar, Nov. 19, 12:30 PM PST

WAKEFIELD, Mass., Starnberg, Nov. 16, 2015 – NVM Express, Inc., the organization that developed the NVM Express specification for accessing solid-state drives (SSDs) on a PCI Express (PCIe) bus, is offering an educational webcast on Thursday, November 19 at 12:30 PST. There is no charge to attend, but advance registration is required.

WHAT: As NVM Express becomes the de facto interface standard for Enterprise and Client PCIe-based storage, the NVMe specification is evolving to take on the challenge of maintaining low latency to storage media while scaling out to meet the needs of modern data centers and applications. This talk will explore the coming NVMe Over Fabrics specification, and how it enables NVMe to be used across RDMA fabrics (e.g., Ethernet or InfiniBand™ with RDMA, Fibre Channel, etc.) and connect to other NVMe storage devices.

WHO: Presenter is Mike Shapiro, Founder and VP Software, EMC/DSSD; Moderator is Janene Ellefson of Micron Technology.

WHERE: https://www.brighttalk.com/webcast/12367/181249

WHEN: Thursday, November 19 at 12:30 PM Pacific time. A free podcast of the event will be made available shortly afterward.

About NVM Express

NVM Express is the optimized, high-performance, scalable host controller interface with a streamlined register interface and command set designed for non-volatile memory based storage. NVM Express was developed as a standard to reduce latency and provide faster performance with support for security and end-to-end data protection. The first NVM Express products began shipping in 2014 and have demonstrated up to six times greater 4KB Random and Sequential Read/Write performance, and lower latency than SATA solid state drives. NVM Express specifications are owned by NVM Express, Inc.

About NVM Express, Inc.

NVM Express, Inc. was formed to define a new storage interface protocol, NVM Express, to enable the full performance potential provided by non-volatile memory storage technology, such as PCI Express solid state drives, in a standards-based approach to enable broad ecosystem adoption. NVM Express, Inc. is a non-profit organization and includes more than 80 member companies.
