Als neuer SNIA Europe Education Chair leitet er zukünftig das Fortbildungskomitee. In dieser Funktion betreut Hr. Kappeler in erster Linie das SNIA Europe Storage Networking Certification Programme (SNCP), das offene und vergleichbare pan-europäische Standards für Zertifizierungen im Bereich Storage/Netzwerke kodifiziert.
Als weltweites Fortbildungs- und Zertifizierungsprogramm trägt das SNCP maßgeblich dazu bei, die SNIA als Hauptansprechpartner für alle Belange der Storage- und Rechenzentrumsinfrastruktur zu positionieren.
